Useful Wedding Souvenir: LED Candles

I am not planning to buy our wedding souvenir since we will have a photobooth and candy bars for the kids. But when I saw this deal online, that is when I started planning to buy and have some souvenir for our wedding.

Basically, the offer is 29 aed for 3 pcs of candles with battery provided. So it's like $2.6 each or 116 in peso. Isn't cheap?

How I came up on this idea? If you will try to search on google 'Wedding Souvenirs' you will find lots and lots of favors and styles. Most of them are candy boxes, key chains, can opener, candies in the bottle etc. and if you will sum all the materials of this for DIY, it will cost you around $6 to $10 each. I also saw some real candles as a wedding souvenir, I find it not a good idea because once they use it, it will melt and won't last.

Ok let me share you some thoughts on those common wedding souvenirs what is a good and what is bad:


1. Candies/ Jams/ Sweets on Jars - this one is a classy one because your guest may surely appreciate what is inside the jar or container. They will surely eat it! I did this kind of souvenir on my friends daughter's birthday and it costs me 20 aed  ($6 / 240 php) in each container with 10 pcs of chocolates inside. It looks attractive if you will make it full of sweets and the color of candies should match on the theme (which might costs you more if you want to personalize your candies).

But if you will make a budget version of this one, here's how it looks like, it doesn't look good right? Because the ribbon/ paper and the label used is not in good quality.



2. Clay Favors - common wedding souvenirs but rather than making it as a display, make something useful like keychain, make it magnetic so it can put on the ref, card or candle holder etc. But I think each piece is also expensive.

 
This one looks cute. But again, what is the purpose? Display where? office or home? Think more creative ;)


personalize keychain with names. Nice idea and very useful.


Magnetic clay model. I love collecting magnets then put it on our ref. So this one is useful too.



3. Candles - This one is a NO NO. Imagine if the candle will melt then the label is there?? FIRE!



4. Wine openers - very useful too. but this is expensive and can only buy online or in US.

What's next after the Wedding?

To all my readers who keep reading this blog... thank you for the nice feedback I am getting through email.
