My Wedding Couture: Bhong - Dubai-based designer

Sorry for my late post for this part "Who is my Wedding Couture". I was so busy in preparation and to my job these past few months. When I wrote that topic, I was actually 100% sure to get Ms. Mel Orlina since she gave me the lowest price of 65,000 php considering that her works is really amazing. But since I am trying to squeeze our budget, I decided not to book her yet because I was thinking to rent or buy an inexpensive gown online. In addition to that, my cousin who was a Veluz bride last 2010 suggesting me to use that gown since it still looks fab and new. I actually like that idea coz somehow I will still become a VELUZ bride even it's 2nd hand user na lang. hahaha.

But when the oldies knew about my plan (to borrow a wedding gown) they refused and beg on me to stop my plan (freaked out and panicked). They told me that if I will wear it, something bad will happen to me and to my cousin. And since I am a Christian, I don't believe on those pamahiin (superstition) because if I did, it proves that I don't have faith that God is under control and will protect our family. But my mom beg on me and offer that she will pay half of my wedding gown. that's why it's easy for me to agree and let go the 2nd hand Veluz gown.

When I emailed Ms. Mel, she said she is already fully booked for the month for June. So I tried to check Von Lazaro and I was also amazed on his works. He qouted me 70,000 php on the dress that I liked.

I've had a skype meeting with Von to discuss every details. Due to fitting schedule and delivery, I've had the feeling that it might give me stress since our flight going to Manila is 10 days before the wedding day.

I was worried if ever that my first fitting will be on the same week. What if it won't fit and need lots of adjustments? What if I need more designs to put and since there's no more time, I might not happy on the final design? Lots of what ifs. So I decided to just find a good couture here in Dubai so I can go in the shop anytime and will surely deliver a week before the wedding because the gown is with me on my travel. Much better right?

I found Bhong My first impressions to him was he is very accommodating. Even sometimes my idea is difficult and scruffy, he still listened to me. We agreed on the designs and I really loved it! For the rates, his rate actually starts from 20,000 dirhams or 240,000 php for the style of gown that I liked. But he only give me a Kabayan rate. I've had my first fitting last March 14 and my next fitting will be on April 25 and he said that's 90% finish.

I am happy coz I didn't expect that I can find good couture here in Dubai. I am always focused to find one in Philippines. But this gives me lots of what if's and worries. I am very excited to see the finish product of my gown. I will post the sketch here soon.
