Our Wedding Venue - Tagaytay Pacific Heights
Finally! I've got this 'this is it' feeling for our wedding reception. We loved Clear Water Resthouse two days ago but this fickle mind cannot stop searching for internet to keeping looking for the best venue that will suit all our needs and for the comfort of our guests.
Tagaytay Pacific Heights - Entrance |
Tagaytay Pacific Heights - Pool |
Tagaytay Pacific Heights - Clubhouse |
Tagaytay Pacific Heights - Toilets |
Tagaytay Pacific Heights - Wedding Venue |
Here are the reasons why we loved Tagaytay Pacific Heights than Clear Water Resthouse:
No. 1 - Accessibility from Caleruega Church to the Venue. TPH is 5 to 10 minutes away while CWR is 30 minutes away.
No. 2 - Since our wedding ceremony starts at 6:00pm which will end up to 7:00pm plus extra time for the pictorial at the church so approximately 7:30pm, at this time there's no more view of taal. So choosing a venue which have a panoramic view of Taal is no sense at all. I remember when my cousin got married at Balai Taal then the ceremony starts at 4:00pm which held only at the garden + pictorial + chika chika, dinner start at 7:00pm then the view is no longer there but completely dark. You can only see the lights at the mountains on the other side.
At first my husband still preferred ClearWater House but when I told him about the view which is not view-able on that time, he agreed on me since Tagaytay Pacific Heights is not bad at all plus this is very close to Caleruega church and accept outside caterer without corkage fees.
No. 3 - The expense for renting the tent. I don't have any idea how much the rent of 3 to 4 pieces of tent. Even though March is summer season in Philippines, it's better to be prepared so renting a tent will be an extra cost which is not included on 80,000 pesos rent for the venue.
No.4 - I am not sure if someone experienced when they attend an event at Tagaytay with an outdoor reception. I remembered that during dinner time, the reception at Balai Taal have lots of bugs or moths and flying insects which I find it annoying because they are really ouchy and scary. I tried to check what are those and saw lots of flying insects up on the tents (eeewwww). Sorry I don't have camera with me during that time as a proof that they are really scary to the point that I just go inside their room and eat my food. Just to be fair with Balai Taal, I checked over the internet and found these reviews
- "It's not a good idea to dine outdoors at night here, since we saw a lot of moths and other insects flying about outside and sticking to the lights by the windows." im0206, Tripadvisor, a comment about Josephine's Restaurant
- "The only downside of this suite is that we were really scared to out of the balcony at night 'coz there's a lot of bugs and insects flying around. Since it's close to nature, there's definitely all sorts of insects here." - time_traveller123_11, tripadvisor, a comment about The Inn, Clear Water RestHouse.
So for me, clubhouse/indoor reception is the best place to held our wedding even without Taal view and that's Tagaytay Pacific Heights. We've just decided that we will choose a beautiful preps house along Tagaytay even it is far from Caleruega since we have lots of time to travel going to the church. I am now negotiating with T Chilline for a 1 night stay and to be use as our Prep house. This house is really cute and have lots of potential on the picture.
As of April 2, 2013, here's what we accomplished:
1. Church: Caleruega Church - booked as of March 22, 2013
2. Reception: Tagaytay Pacific Heights - will deposit downpayment within this week for reservation fee (Php5,000)
3. Prep House: T Chilline -finalizing the contract
4. Photographer: Nelwin Uy - will deposit downpayment before April 15, 2013. I need Php30,000 for reservation fee
5. Videographer: Bob Nicolas - will deposit downpayment before April 15, 2013. I need Php20,000 for reservation fee
6. Caterer: Purple Dish - finalizing the contract with Chef Velmor
I think this is the first 6 Major Supplier we need to complete 10 months before wedding so we can proceed on more detailed preparations.
Hope you will find it useful! Happy Preps!
